Education & Empowerment Program
Join us each month to discuss leading topics with health care providers, researchers and patient advocates. Visit our Events Page to see specific dates and topics for upcoming Education and Empowerment programs. This is an inclusive group and all interested women are welcome. We consider everyone a survivor from the date of diagnosis.
Hope, Health & Awareness Program
The Hope Health and Awareness Program provides free outreach programs to women in our community. Trained volunteers from the Women’s Cancer Awareness Group present a thirty or sixty minute program to groups, organizations and businesses.
When attending the Hope, Health & Awareness Program you will:
- Hear stories of hope and personal experiences from cancer survivors.
- Learn how to identify cancer risks.
- Learn the symptoms of women’s cancers.
- Learn about reliable local resources and support groups.

Survivor Teaching Students: Saving Women’s Lives
Since 2004, the Women’s Cancer Awareness Group has been bringing the National Survivors Teaching Students Program to third year medical students under the auspices of the Ovarian Cancer National Alliance as a local partner.
Survivors Teaching Students brings ovarian cancer survivors into medical school classrooms to share their stories and key information about the disease. The program is now in more than 75 medical schools across the nation as well as in a number of nurse practitioner, nursing and physician assistant training programs.
If you are an ovarian cancer survivor and would like to participate in the Survivors Teaching Students program, please Contact Us |
