EDUCATION/SUPPORT Programs

Cancer Support Groups: Bimonthly support group led by professional facilitator.
Creativity Group – A six week group for women affected by cancer to explore “what’s next” in a safe creative space. No art experience is required. All art materials provided.
Day for Women – Annual event for 300 women featuring upbeat and informative programs including: a doctors’ panel, lifestyle and health information and a wellness marketplace
Education & Empowerment - The Education & Empowerment (E & E) programs provide a safe place for people to gather and receive useful and reliable information from expert guest speakers. E & E offers community resources that are helpful to healing as well as time to interact with other women affected by cancer.
Hope, Health and Awareness Outreach Campaigns - Extensive public speaking to women’s groups, student groups and other organizations
Teal Time – Cancer Survivorship celebration and ovarian cancer awareness program held every September in Sonoma County.

VOLUNTEER TRAINING/APPRECIATION Events:

Volunteer Appreciation – Volunteer recognition to celebrate the past years accomplishments and inform all volunteers about upcoming volunteer opportunities.
Volunteer Orientation – A gathering to teach new volunteers about the history of WCAG, explain the STAR awards program and go over the volunteer handbook.

FUND RAISING Events:

Women’s Cancer Awareness Group hosts several events during the year to raise funds to support our programs. Please join us at one of these fun events.
Bingo – Theme-based parties where participants win fabulous prizes instead of cash. Bingo events are held at several locations throughout the year. Please see our Events Calendar for more details.
Human Race – Annual Run/Walk in Santa Rosa, which is the largest collaborative fundraising event in Sonoma County and part of a nationwide community fundraising event for nonprofit organizations. The race features both a 3K and 10K run/walk. Please help WCAG reach our fundraising goal and grow our team size to the largest its ever been!
